Unlike many competitors, the Owl has substantial heat sinking where it is needed. This isn't one of those torches which gives 10,000 lumens for 1 minute then drops the power back (and the throw!) - this sustains what it says on the tin for the duration. This is what keeps the LED running at optimum temperature and not overheating.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Wolf Eyes Owl LED torch has a beautifully even flood of light at all distances and a beautiful spot from 5 metres out. Below 5 metres you can just make out the three circles of light which make up the beam. This is a great torch for spotting wildlife, especially if on acreage as it goes from spot to flood. It is also great out on a boat, as water eats light and this has plenty of light to overcome that. It has the ability to keep that light up all the way to the end, unlike many other torches. There are not many torches with tonnes of light which have a perfect beam from flood to spot.
