Green light is a little more easily seen by humans and is less disruptive to animals, allowing for observation. It also helps to preserve the users natural night vision, and provides better contrast to help locate wildlife in the dark. It is also less likely to startle animals or birds, so they can continue to be observed.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis torch has a dedicated dual LED light, meaning two distinct and separate LEDs which are moved in to place to provide the best possible output in each wavelength. We don't use filters, as filters work by holding back all but the desired wavelength, not by converting light to other wavelengths. This is the reason the X-Beam LED torch was developed: two LEDs give you good light in both wavelengths. Our eyes traditionally don’t perceive shapes and contrast as well with a single colour such as these, the reason for the reduced distance.
